Mid Winter Solstice

26 June 2012

We met at Denise’s home for a Open Day which included a shared mid-winter solstice lunch.  The committee had a meeting, at which all members present  participated, and it was an enjoyable day of eating, chatting, and working at fibre craft projects.   Thank you to Denise for her hospitality.  The sun was shining, the fire was blazing and it was very comfortable.

The parcels from the Wairarapa group for the fibre swap project were handed out, and we all went home with a parcel (or 2 in a few cases) to get our creativity going.

Morning tea has started.  What a lovely setting.

Denise and Pixie read the notes, and then Winifred hands out the parcels.

The parcels are opened and examined.

What a feast!

wow! what a wonderful looking feast. i am sorry to miss such a great day out to celebrate winter.
i am looking forward to seeing the results of the packages when i get home in sept. i wahed my blue hat one more time and it shrunk down a little bit more. i delivered it to grandmere for a fall and winter hat to use when going out by wheelchair. it looks great and did fit. i think i will try another knit & felting project. i really like the results of the technique. miss you.
